Thirteen of Steps to Acquiring a New UPS

1. Get in car head towards CompUSA. (Be sure to ignore “check engine” light on car dashboard.)
2. Arrive at empty shell of CompUSA store.
3. Swear colorfully.
4. Drive towards Staples, past it, make U-turn, then finally arrive at Staples.
5. Try to exit car without removing seatbelt. After fight with nylon webbing, manage to free self and enter Staples.
6. Ask blank looking employee where uninterruptible power supplies are.
7. Get directed to section with cheapo surge protectors.
8. Go to customer service desk and ask same blank looking employee where uninterruptible power supplies are.
9. Get directed to correct section.
10. Mull over questions of massive importance such as “how much wattage do I need?” and “how much money can I spend?” Take at least 15 minutes even though you already knew the answers to both questions.
11. Throw out back hauling huge UPS to cart.
12. Impoverish self in order to own back-mangling UPS.
13. Success! You are now the owner of a huge back-mangling UPS. (But can you get it into the trunk of the car without needing an ambulance afterwards???)
