AP* Breaking News - At approximately 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time last night the mood of Immi the Mad, also known as Robyn, abruptly changed for no known reason. Ms. Mad was in the process of taking her medications when suddenly she no longer felt depressed, but felt happy and smiling.  Her medication box was subsequently checked for fast acting mood altering substances but none were found.  ”She only takes her prescribed meds. Really! She hasn’t even had to take prednisone for days!” claimed Ms. Mad’s mother. Sources say that the medications taken were Trileptal 600mg, Zyprexa 5mg, Wellbutrin 100mg, and Prilosec OTC. A doctor who prefers to remain anonymous told us that none of these items could possibly change mood within 60 seconds at these doses. “If you took a handful of each it might change your mood that fast,” said the anonymous medico, “because vomiting tends to change one’s mood rather quickly.”  When questioned about this sudden change in mood, Ms. Mad commented that she didn’t mind feeling better and said, “I’m really grateful to all my friends who were concerned about my depression. Thanks to everyone.” Ms. Mad’s sudden mood alteration is being ascribed to bipolar disorder and discontinuation of prednisone until a more compelling reason can be found.

  1. Great to hear you rebounded in a good way. Hope you stay on a good upswing for awhile.

  2. Thanks, Bradley. I feel a lot more balanced than I have the last few weeks. So hopefully this will stay a while.

(And yes, Nathan, whenever you pop by, I am sometimes silly even when I’m not hypomanic.)

  3. Well, just go with it! Don’t knock it or question it! I’m glad for you.

  5. WC - Oh I question everything. It comes of inordinate curiosity, but fortunately doesn’t mean I’m distressed by it.

    PJ - Absolutely!

  6. Bouncy, bouncy ;) Glad things picked up for you, Immi - even if for no apparent reason. It’s a nice surprise and those are rare. We take what we can get with this stuff, and if answers appear along the way then more’s the better!

  11. Immi,

The down side of me being so busy is that I don’t read posts timely. I am sorry that you had such a mood dip but really glad to hear that you are back up. Crazy the way it happened but go with it! Very funny post you wrote. You have a real knack for saying things in a humorous way.

    Hugs,
    Tamara
