There be cats here. This one is the best contortionist. Her name is Mini and she loooooooooooves food and she loooooooooooves pets. All on her terms, of course. Sounds like me when I’m being willful. LOL
And yes, I’m giving up on anonymity. I kept feeling it was wrong for me. I couldn’t share my cats or my art or other parts of my life. My abusers or the folks who let me down as a kid will just have to live with me not being anonymous. And I’m ok with living with it. My name is Robyn and I have a mental illness. But I still love to go by Immi. It’s short for Imitrex, by the way, which goes handily with the blog name.

Babbled by Immi.

Like you, I originally tried to keep my blog more anonymous, but found it too restricting. Granted, I don’t list my phone number or address, but I probably give more info than others would feel comfortable. I, however, enjoyed the freedom once I decided to loosen up a bit.

Robyn,
Good for you. I made the decision when I began blogging to use my name and picture. I try not to do anything that would directly identify my abusers. Therefore, I don’t use my hometown name, etc. on my blog. But, I believe it is healing to be able to tell your story as your real self.
Hugs,
Tamara
Tamaras last blog post..Turned out to be a good day – didn’t start that way
@Bradley – I’m quite sure I give more info than some would feel comfortable with, but that’s ok. I decided doing what the mythical they feel comfy with just didn’t work for me.
@Tamara – I figure it will work out for me. After all, the worst of my abusers are either dead or think I’m just plain crazy and imagined it all. This works for me. That works for them. It’s all workable.
Hi Robyn … I, Laura, dragged myself out from under the bed too. Thanks for sharing.

Immi,
I haven’t come out totally. I never give out my surname, unless it’s to people I trust, and all mail from the site goes into the cat’s gmail account and comes back with her name.
I live in a small town, and everyone knows my family, so this is best. =Someday i will out myself- but right now this is right.
Beautiful cats btw. I love cats, she is my bestest friend.

Way to be gutsy, miss Robyn
I think I’ll probably still call you Immi tho.

Laura – You don’t look the least like something dragged out from under the bed. I saw your pic!
Susan – Whatever works best for you is good with me. I don’t have a need to know anyone’s last name or location, just who they are, if that makes any sense. And who you is is good people. So it’s all to the good!
Nathan – *flexes nearly-nonexistant biceps* Woot on the gutsy! Ya, call me Immi is fine. Simpler, less to remember. lol
Cool with the ‘coming out’, Robyn =) Though I second Susan in saying that we already knew who you are and that’s the good stuff!
Your kitty is a beauty, btw! Just adorable.
hmm… good topic! … i think what works best for me is one blog that people in my life know i have and follow… and it’s *me*, but not the *really* deep stuff (too many relevant people are still in my life, if you know what i mean…)
… and another blog, that yes, is under a pen name, but is more representative of me, *all* of me lol, deeper to the heart, truer – much truer – in that sense… much more freeing for me, i can express the deep stuff, the stuff that really matters in regard to who i really *am*…. hopefully giving *all* my parts the chance to express freely….
…. and there are a few *select* people who know of both….
Vague – Sounds like you’ve got it all thought out for yourself. That’s super!
CK (I must read from the bottom up. LOL) – Thanks. Mini is an adorable kitty. Good thing because she drives me nuts every time I have food. lol
