This is the story of The List of Things Not To Do. At least, it’s the introduction to it in its current form.
mc: stuck a sterling wire in my eye last night, so been a weird day… ER doc says it’s not serious, just that corneal scratches hurt like hell, should be ok in a day or two
ottoman: ouch! how’d you manage to stick wire in your eye?
mc: i was working on a piece of jewelry and lost my grip on the 3 ft long wire i was using and it flipped up and under my glasses and scratched the bottom of my cornea and the white part lower down
mc: glasses prolly kept it from scratching middle of my eye… yay!
ottoman: ouchy
mc: yeah
mc: i have novocaine drops for it
ottoman: you aren’t supposed to do that.. /me puts it on the list of things not to do
mc: of course, putting the novocaine drops in hurts like hell at first lol
ottoman: like.. not supposed to put your hand in the garbage disposal
mc: but just for a couple seconds, then whole eyelid goes numb lol
mc: ah, THAT list!
mc: good plan *nodnod*
ottoman: hehe ;P
ottoman: The same list that says don’t accidently kick the edges of desks, chairs, walls, doors, etc while barefoot
mc: oh damn
mc: i kicked edge of desk tonight
mc: cuz can’t see well out of the numb eye lol
mc: toes are mad at me and want novocaine too lolol
ottoman: nummy
ottoman: I don’t think the novocaine will work too well on the toes
mc: nah
mc: so they’re not getting any
The List of Things Not To Do

1) Do not put your hand in the garbage disposal
2) Do not kick the edges of desks, chairs, walls, doors, etc while barefoot.
3) Do not stick wire in your eye. (aka the One Rule of Wire Sculpture, according to Elizabeth B)
