Merriam Webster Online says creativity is
“1 : the quality of being creative
2 : the ability to create”
And creative is…
“1 : marked by the ability or power to create : given to creating
2 : having the quality of something created rather than imitated : IMAGINATIVE
3 : managed so as to get around legal or conventional limits ; also : deceptively arranged so as to conceal or defraud ”
Hmmms. I guess by that definition I am creative. I must have the ability to create, because I create things all the time. I’m hooked on making stuff. So I’m given to creating, I suppose. Taking disparate bits and turning them into something cohesive just really cranks my shaft, so to speak.
What else is out there? Hmmms
Gads, I’m stuck in the dictionary and can’t get out.
Create…
1 : to bring into existence
2 a : to invest with a new form, office, or rank b : to produce or bring about by a course of action or behavior
3 : CAUSE, OCCASION
4 a : to produce through imaginative skill b : DESIGN
intransitive senses : to make or bring into existence something new
Ok already, I can bring into existence. Something new, even. Maybe not great art, but mine, at any rate.
